A 38-year-old man was concerned that the small lesions on his lips were flat
warts. A biopsy identified Fordyce, or sebaceous, glands of the lips.
Fordyce glands differ from warts in that they are numerous, have a
yellowish white appearance, and are seen on the mucosal surface and vermilion
of the lips. The glands are benign and require no treatment.
