More than 25 000 individuals have accessed the World Health Organization's (WHO) online training on how to detect, prevent, respond to, and control the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019 nCoV).
The WHO reports that approximately 3000 new users from around the world have registered every day for the free learning resource, and more than 200 000 people have viewed the introductory video to the course on YouTube. The modules were developed by the WHO Health Emergencies Programme (WHE).
As described on the course introduction, the course "provides a general introduction to nCoV and emerging respiratory viruses and is intended for public health professionals, incident managers and personnel working for the United Nations, international organizations and NGOs."
The program, titled Emergency respiratory viruses, including nCoV: methods for detection, prevention, response, and control, is currently being produced in all official UN languages and Portuguese.
