Terms and Termination: What's in your Agreement?

In this Medical News Minute, prepared exclusively for Patient Care, Dr Bobby Lazzara reminds physicians that the termination provisions in an employment agreement, in fact set the terms of the agreement – no matter what term is stated in the document. If the termination provision is “without cause” then the length of the notice period (say, 30 to 90 days) is the actual term of your employment. 

 

Bottom line: Read your fine print.
