COVID-19 Update: Global Confirmed Cases as of April 1, 2020

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, April 1, 2020 at 10:51 AM, there have been:

  • 883 225 confirmed cases

  • 44 156 deaths

  • 185 377 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 189 753 total cases to date, followed by Italy with 105 792 cases and Spain with 102 136 cases. 

Italy currently has the highest number of confirmed deaths (12 428), followed by Spain (9053) and France (3523). China leads in recoveries with 76 403 people who have recovered, followed by Spain with 22 647 recoveries and Germany with 16 100.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 189 753 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 4102 deaths and 7141 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 76 049
2. New Jersey: 18 997
3. California: 8584
                                            4. Michigan: 7615
                                         5. Florida: 6741

New York also has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 1096 reported fatalities.
