Ingrown Toenail: How to Prevent Recurrences

Article

A simple trick for preventing recurrence of an ingrown toenail.

After I have treated patients for ingrowntoenail, I suggest that they preventrecurrences by regularly filingthe central portion of the nail to keepit thin. The nail will then begin togrow more toward the center, insteadof the sides, to compensate for theloss of thickness.- Adriana Pavletic, MD
