Take the Poll: Placing Morbidly Obese Children in Protective Custody?

In a recent JAMA commentary, the authors suggest that state intervention might be considered in severe instances of childhood obesity.

In a recent JAMA commentary on life-threatening childhood obesity, Murtagh and Ludwigwrite that that as an alternative to treatment at newly established pediatric surgical weight loss programs, "involvement of state protective services might be considered, including placement into foster care in carefully selected situations."
