Which US states are seeing a surge in coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases?

According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention COVID Data Tracker, as of July 6, 2020 at 5:45 PM, the states with the greatest number of reported cases in the last 7 days are:

1. Florida: 66 984
2. California: 53 722
3. Texas: 51 868
4. Arizona: 28 038
5. Georgia: 20 531

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, July 7, 2020 at 9:34 AM, there have been:

• 2 939 540 confirmed cases
• 130 312 deaths
• 924 148 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 397 649
2. California: 273 662
3. Florida: 206 447
4. Texas: 205 642
5. New Jersey: 173 611

New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 32 219 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 15 229 deaths, and Massachusetts with 8198.

Massachusetts now leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 93 157 people who have recovered, followed by New York with 71 040 recoveries and Pennsylvania with 70 437.

California leads in number of patients tested with 4 793 353 people tested, followed by New York with 4 288 131 people tested, and Florida with 2 233 940 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 11 653 442 confirmed cases, 538 933 deaths, and 6 336 160 recoveries.
