COVID-19 Update: Global Confirmed Cases as of April 7, 2020

The latest COVID-19 data on confirmed cases, fatalities, and more from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, April 7, 2020 at 9:42 AM, there have been:

  • 1 363 365 confirmed cases

  • 76 420 deaths

  • 292 425 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 368 533 total cases to date, followed by Spain with 140 510 cases and Italy with 132 547 cases. 

Italy has the highest number of confirmed deaths (16 523), followed by Spain (13 798) and France (8911). China leads in recoveries with 77 410 people who have recovered, followed by Spain with 43 208 recoveries and Germany with 36 081.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 368 533 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 11 008 deaths and 19 972 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 131 830
2. New Jersey: 41 090
3. Michigan: 17 221
                                      4. California: 16 349
                                   5. Louisiana: 14 867

New York also has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with >3400 reported fatalities, followed by Wayne, Michigan with 346 deaths.
