How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, March 8, 2021 at 4:25 PM, EDT, there have been:

• 29 033 369 confirmed cases
• 525 619 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 3 600 831
2. Texas: 2 697 078
3. Florida: 1 948 307
4. New York: 1 700 091
5. Illinois: 1 199 442

Deaths: California has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 54 276 reported fatalities, followed by New York with 48 401, and Texas with 45 407.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 49 646 014 people tested, followed by New York with 39 695 100 people tested, and Florida with 22 339 182 people tested.
