Ease Eye Ointment Application

Article

For easier application of eye ointment, have the patient lie down or sit with his head tilted back.

For easier application of eye ointment, have the patient lie down or sit with his head tilted back. Tell him to close both eyes and rotate his eyes toward his forehead. Retract the lower lid of the affected eye and apply the desired amount of ointment, starting at the medial canthus. Tell the patient to blink several times. The blinking will disperse the ointment across the eye.
