Severe Otalgia and Fever in a 6-year-old Boy

Video: Right ear pain and purulent drainage have not improved despite antibiotic Rx several days ago. Watch the exam. What's your Dx?

A 6-year-old boy is seen for severe right otalgia for 2-3 days with drainage from ear, and fever. Treated w/ antibiotic ear drops for 2 days without improvement. Exam shows crusted brownish discharge from right ear on the boy’s cheek and swelling just behind the right ear. Opposite side is normal.  Watch full exam on video.
