9 States, 2 Cities Requiring COVID-19 Vaccination for all Health Care Workers

Delta variant rising and vaccine immunity possibly on the wane are 2 reasons cited by state governors and city mayors for requiring full vaccination of health care personnel.

As a fourth wave of SARS-CoV-2 infection moves through the US, the Delta variant becomes dominant, and reports surface of waning protection from available vaccines, states and large US cities are levying COVID-19 vaccine mandates for health care workers who deliver care or have patient contact in hospitals, nursing homes and other extended long-term care facilities.

As of this morning, August 19th, there are 11 such mandates in place, as follows:
