Come Down to Their Level
When dealing with children, I always try to sit so that I am at eye level with them.

When dealing with children, I always try to sit so that I am at eye level with them, I praise them for being brave and smart, and I make a point of being friendly to both them and their parents. Most important, I keep plenty of stickers on hand to give out.
