COVID-19 Update: Global Cases and Recoveries as of May 28, 2020

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, May 28, 2020 at 3:32 PM, there have been:

• 5 936 145 confirmed cases
• 358 067 deaths
• 2 389 056 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1 712 816 total cases to date, followed by Brazil with 411 821 cases and Russia with 379 051 cases.

The US also leads in number of confirmed deaths (101 196), followed by the United Kingdom (37 919) and Italy (33 142). The US also leads in recoveries with 391 508 people who have recovered, followed by Brazil with 166 647 recoveries and Germany with 163 360.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 1 712 816 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 101 196 deaths and 391 508 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 366 733
2. New Jersey: 157 185
3. Illinois 114 306
4. California: 101 946
5. Massachusetts: 94 220

New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 29 529 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 11 409 deaths and Massachusetts with 6547.
