How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, April 6, 2020 at 9:22 AM, there have been:

  • 1 289 380 confirmed cases

  • 70 590 deaths

  • 270 372 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 337 971 total cases to date, followed by Spain with 135 032 cases and Italy with 128 948 cases. 

Italy has the highest number of confirmed deaths (15 887), followed by Spain (13 055) and France (8078). China leads in recoveries with 77 310 people who have recovered, followed by Spain with 40 437 recoveries and Germany with 28 700.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 337 971 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 9654 deaths and 17 582 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 123 160
2. New Jersey: 37 505
3. Michigan: 15 718
                                      4. California: 15 158
                                   5. Louisiana: 13 010

New York also has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with >3000 reported fatalities, followed by Wayne, Michigan with 293 deaths.
