COVID-19 Update: US and Global Cases, Deaths, and Recoveries as of August 11, 2020

Global confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 20 million. We summarize more of today's global and US data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, August 11, 2020 at 9:35 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 5 097 164 confirmed cases
• 163 505 deaths
• 1 670 755 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 574 673
2. Florida: 536 961
3. Texas: 510 121
4. New York: 421 336
5. Georgia: 219 025

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 32 781 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 15 878 deaths, and California with 10 481.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 349 833 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 105 093 recoveries and Massachusetts with 99 021.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 8 998 353 people tested, followed by New York with 6 563 646 people tested, and Texas with 4 073 661 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 20 124 437 confirmed cases, 737 224 deaths, and 12 373 784 recoveries.
