How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, August 19, 2020 at 9:27 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 5 486 232 confirmed cases
• 171 877 deaths
• 1 898 159 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 640 290
2. Florida: 579 932
3. Texas: 569 044
4. New York: 426 571
5. Georgia: 241 677

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 32 857 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 15 925 deaths, and California with 11 530.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 415 903 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 127 749 recoveries and Louisiana with 103 512.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 10 049 039 people tested, followed by New York with 7 191 978 people tested, and Texas with 4 500 645 people tested.
