According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, August 4, 2020 at 8:34 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 155 478 deaths
• 1 513 446 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 520 857
2. Florida: 491 884
3. Texas: 456 624
4. New York: 416 843
5. Georgia: 195 435

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 32 719 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 15 846 deaths, and California with 9507.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 297 422 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 105 093 recoveries and Massachusetts with 97 595.
