COVID-19 Update: US and Global Cases, Deaths, and Recoveries as of January 25, 2021

US confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 25 million; global cases have reached 99 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 25, 2021 at 10:21 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 25 137 632 confirmed cases
• 419 263 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 3 169 091
2. Texas: 2 250 691
3. Florida: 1 649 449
4. New York: 1 335 695
5. Illinois: 1 101 819

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 42 325 reported fatalities, followed by California with 37 121 deaths, and Texas with 34 917.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 809 067 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 731 088 recoveries and Tennessee with 654 335.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 40 285 715 people tested, followed by New York with 30 543 012 people tested, and Florida with 18 397 824 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 99 301 242 confirmed cases, 2 131 532 deaths, and 54 843 869 recoveries.
