How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 5, 2021 at 9:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 20 825 423 confirmed cases
• 353 640 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 2 464 290
2. Texas: 1 829 731
3. Florida: 1 376 692
4. New York: 1 035 139
5. Illinois: 984 880

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 38 599 reported fatalities, followed by Texas with 28 551 deaths, and California with 27 021.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 464 746 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 585 091 recoveries and Tennessee with 530 494.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 34 127 013 people tested, followed by New York with 25 983 464 people tested, and Florida with 16 095 888 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 85 837 100 confirmed cases, 1 856 520 deaths, and 48 265 890 recoveries.
