COVID-19 Update: US and Global Cases, Deaths, and Recoveries as of November 2, 2020

US confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 9 million; global cases have reached 46 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, November 2, 2020 at 8:24 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 9 210 852 confirmed cases
• 231 003 deaths
• 3 630 579 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. Texas: 937 317
2. California: 936 198
3. Florida: 807 412
4. New York: 509 735
5. Illinois: 423 527

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 33 535 reported fatalities, followed by Texas with 18 502 deaths, and California with 17 672.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 782 006 people who have recovered, followed by Tennessee with 233 175 recoveries and North Carolina with 231 611.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 18 743 315 people tested, followed by New York with 14 676 653 people tested, and Florida with 10 086 898 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 46 639 757 confirmed cases, 1 202 013 deaths, and 31 155 083 recoveries.
