COVID-19 Update: US and Global Cases, Deaths, and Recoveries as of October 1, 2020

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, October 1, 2020 at 10:23 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 7 237 043 confirmed cases
• 207 008 deaths
• 2 840 688 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 819 646
2. Texas: 773 019
3. Florida: 706 516
4. New York: 458 649
5. Georgia: 318 026

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 33 153 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 16 122 deaths, and Texas with 16 016.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 664 883 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 184 422 recoveries and Tennessee with 179 322.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 14 705 202 people tested, followed by New York with 10 747 313 people tested, and Texas with 6 237 157 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 34 026 003 confirmed cases, 1 015 107 deaths, and 23 680 268 recoveries.
