How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, October 21, 2020 at 10:24 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 8 276 966 confirmed cases
• 221 122 deaths
• 3 295 426 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 884 739
2. Texas: 862 330
3. Florida: 760 389
4. New York: 486 480
5. Illinois: 354 457

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 33 366 reported fatalities, followed by Texas with 17 560 deaths, and California with 17 069.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 733 758 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 218 541 recoveries and Tennessee with 208 182.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 17 189 070 people tested, followed by New York with 13 072 715 people tested, and Texas with 7 444 326 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 40 895 435 confirmed cases, 1 126 382 deaths, and 27 961 221 recoveries.
