COVID-19 Update: US and Global Cases, Deaths, and Recoveries as of September 18, 2020

Global confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 30 million. We summarize more of today's global and US data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, September 18, 2020 at 10:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 6 678 382 confirmed cases
• 197 696 deaths
• 2 540 334 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 775 750
2. Texas: 701 350
3. Florida: 674 456
4. New York: 447 262
5. Georgia: 300 903

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 33 070 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 16 057 deaths, and Texas with 14 826.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 594 817 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 167 257 recoveries and Tennessee with 161 707.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 13 080 037 people tested, followed by New York with 9 621 920 people tested, and Texas with 5 345 176 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 30 221 414 confirmed cases, 946 847 deaths, and 20 554 349 recoveries.
