According to early estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of August 14, 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant made up 86.1% of COVID-19 cases in the United States.

The CDC estimates as of August 14, 2021, the 5 states with the highest unweighted proportion of new cases attributed to the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant are:

1. Utah: 91.9%
2. California: 87.7%
3. North Carolina: 86.5%
4. Florida: 86.4%
5. Nevada: 86.2%

How many people in the US have been vaccinated against COVID-19?

According to the CDC as of today, August 18, 2021, at 4:50 PM, EDT:

• 59.9% of total US population has received at least 1 dose
• 50.9% of total US population is fully vaccinated
