According to early estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of August 24, 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant made up 98.8% of COVID-19 cases in the United States.

The CDC estimates as of August 24, 2021, the 5 states with the highest unweighted proportion of new cases attributed to the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant are:

1. Missouri: 97.3%
2. Kansas: 96.7%
3. Arkansas: 96.5%
4. Oklahoma: 96.4%
5. Wisconsin: 95%

How many people in the US have been vaccinated against COVID-19?

According to the CDC as of today, August 26, 2021, at 10:34 PM, EDT:

• 61.3% of total US population has received at least 1 dose
• 52% of total US population is fully vaccinated
