How widespread is the Delta variant (B.1.617.2) in the US?

According to early estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of October 23, 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant made up 99.5% of COVID-19 cases in the United States.

The CDC estimates for the week ending on October 23, 2021, the 5 states with the highest unweighted proportion of new cases attributed to the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant are:

1. Vermont: 100%
2. North Dakota: 100%
3. Maine: 100%
4. District of Columbia: 100%
5. Alaska: 99.9%

How many people in the US have been vaccinated against COVID-19?

According to the CDC as of today, November 2, 2021, at 1:47 PM, EDT:

• 66.9% of total US population has received at least 1 dose
• 58.1% of total US population is fully vaccinated

The 5 states/territories with the highest percentage of population fully vaccinated are:

1. Puerto Rico: 73.6%
2. Vermont: 71.4%
3. Rhode Island:71%
4. Connecticut: 70.8%
5. Maine: 70.7%
