US confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 28 million; global cases have reached 111 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, February 22, 2021 at 9:24 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 28 135 045 confirmed cases
• 499 056 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 3 531 846
2. Texas: 2 600 871
3. Florida: 1 868 772
4. New York: 1 591 672
5. Illinois: 1 174 330

Deaths: California has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 49 345 reported fatalities, followed by New York with 46 812, and Texas with 42 162.

Recoveries*: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 2 318 193 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 887 612 recoveries, and Pennsylvania with 811 315.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 47 043 348 people tested, followed by New York with 36 461 592 people tested, and Florida with 21 132 651 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 111 518 562 confirmed cases, 2 468 646 deaths, and 62 903 843 recoveries.
