JiaDe Yu, MD: When to Refer Pediatric Patients with Suspected Contact Dermatitis

Early referral of pediatric patients with suspected contact dermatitis can help confirm the diagnosis, identify the cause, and initiate appropriate treatment, according to JiaDe 'Jeff' Yu, MD, the director of the Contact Dermatitis Clinic at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr Yu spoke with Patient Care Online^© at the 2025 American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida, about his presentation on pediatric allergic contact dermatitis. In the video above, Dr Yu, who is also an assistant professor at Harvard Medical School in Boston, advises primary care clinicians on when to refer pediatric patients with unusual contact dermatitis to a dermatologist.
