Minimizing Movements During Digital Block
Prevent disruptive movements when administering a digital block.

To prevent disruptive movements when administering a digital block, I tell the patient, "If the discomfort makes you want to move, press your hand (or foot) straight down." This gives him or her something to focus on, and when the urge to move is overwhelming, it disrupts the procedure less than other movements.
