The Guideline Toplines slide show below is a quick review of recommendations for managing pain related to osteoarthritis of the hand, hip, and knee published by the Osteoarthritis Research Society International (OARSI) and the American College of Rheumatology/Arthritis Foundation (ACR/AF).

Both sets of guidelines emphasize the importance of exercise in any OA treatment regimen and also the essential role of shared decision making between patient and clinician. All treatment recommendations are graded in terms of the strength of the evidence to support them.
