COVID-19 Update: Global Cases and Recoveries as of July 9, 2020

There are now >3 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US. Plus more data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map you should know about today.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, July 9, 2020 at 9:33 AM, there have been:

• 3 055 491 confirmed cases
• 132 310 deaths
• 953 420 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 398 929
2. California: 292 773
3. Texas: 224 929
4. Florida: 223 783
5. New Jersey: 174 039

New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 32 251 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 15 332 deaths, and Massachusetts with 8243.

Massachusetts leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 94 347 people who have recovered, followed by New York with 71 185 recoveries and Pennsylvania with 70 953.

California leads in number of patients tested with 4 996 175 people tested, followed by New York with 4 402 452 people tested, and Florida with 2 320 207 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 12 077 210 confirmed cases, 550 327 deaths, and 6 636 374 recoveries.
