COVID-19 Update: Global Cases and Recoveries as of May 19, 2020

The latest COVID-19 data on confirmed cases, recoveries, and more from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, May 19, 2020 at 10:32 AM, there have been:

• 4 836 329 confirmed cases
• 319 213 deaths
• 1 805 093 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1 510 988 total cases to date, followed by Russia with 299 941 cases and Brazil with 257 396 cases.

The US also leads in number of confirmed deaths (90 432), followed by the United Kingdom (34 876) and Italy (32 007). The US now also leads in recoveries with 283 178 people who have recovered, followed by Germany with 155 681 recoveries and Spain with 150 376.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 1 510 988 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 90 432 deaths and 283 178 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 351 371
2. New Jersey: 148 240
3. Illinois 96 485
4. Massachusetts: 87 052
5. California: 81 828

New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 28 339 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 10 439 deaths and Massachusetts with 5862.
