How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, May 5, 2020 at 3:32 PM, there have been:

• 3 562 919 confirmed cases
• 249 712 deaths
• 1 144 454 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1 172 670 total cases to date, followed by Spain with 217 466 cases and Italy with 211 938 cases.

The US also leads in number of confirmed deaths (68 387), followed by Italy (29 079) and the United Kingdom (28 734). The US now also leads in recoveries with 180 303 people who have recovered, followed by Germany with 132 700 recoveries and Spain with 118 902.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 1 172 670 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 68 387 deaths and 180 303 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 318 953
2. New Jersey: 128 269
3. Massachusetts: 69 406
4. Illinois: 63 831
5. California: 55 070

New York City, New York still has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 19 057 reported fatalities, followed by Wayne, Michigan with 1893 deaths and Cook, Illinois with 1802.
