Global confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 78 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, December 23, 2020 at 10:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 18 255 974 confirmed cases
• 323 274 deaths
• 6 298 082 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 1 965 300
2. Texas: 1 626 934
3. Florida: 1 223 015
4. Illinois: 911 308
5. New York: 866 765

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 36 724 reported fatalities, followed by Texas with 26 118 deaths, and California with 23 308.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 297 294 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 467 570 recoveries and Tennessee with 447 996.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 30 190 182 people tested, followed by New York with 23 639 536 people tested, and Florida with 14 833 408 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?
