US confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 23 million; global cases have reached 92 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 14, 2021 at 9:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 23 079 161 confirmed cases
• 384 794 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 2 843 066
2. Texas: 2 041 384
3. Florida: 1 517 472
4. New York: 1 179 266
5. Illinois: 1 046 030

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 40 192 reported fatalities, followed by California with 31 686 deaths, and Texas with 31 277.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 612 188 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 656 433 recoveries and Tennessee with 588 974.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 36 842 651 people tested, followed by New York with 27 918 445 people tested, and Florida with 17 148 040 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 92 484 759 confirmed cases, 1 981 802 deaths, and 51 122 496 recoveries.
