How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 6, 2021 at 9:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 21 055 486 confirmed cases
• 357 422 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 2 500 323
2. Texas: 1 861 286
3. Florida: 1 392 123
4. New York: 1 048 281
5. Illinois: 991 719

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 38 743 reported fatalities, followed by Texas with 28 797 deaths, and California with 27 524.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 488 189 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 596 221 recoveries and Tennessee with 539 207.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 34 330 784 people tested, followed by New York with 26 135 866 people tested, and Florida with 16 196 076 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 86 569 693 confirmed cases, 1 871 754 deaths, and 48 586 899 recoveries.
