How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 8, 2021 at 2:22 PM, EDT, there have been:

• 21 717 216 confirmed cases
• 367 143 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 2 594 854
2. Texas: 1 911 515
3. Florida: 1 429 722
4. New York: 1 088 897
5. Illinois: 1 017 322

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 39 155 reported fatalities, followed by Texas with 29 514 deaths, and California with 28 634.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 522 105 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 613 418 recoveries and Tennessee with 555 634.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 34 760 355 people tested, followed by New York with 26 572 232 people tested, and Florida with 16 451 278 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 88 505 824 confirmed cases, 1 906 468 deaths, and 49 275 713 recoveries.
