COVID-19 Update: US and Global Cases, Deaths, and Recoveries as of October 2, 2020

Data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map on coronavirus cases, mortalities, recoveries, and more.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, October 2, 2020 at 10:23 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 7 282 027 confirmed cases
• 207 867 deaths
• 2 860 650 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 822 775
2. Texas: 776 736
3. Florida: 709 144
4. New York: 460 031
5. Georgia: 319 359

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 33 159 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 16 140 deaths, and Texas with 16 130.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 668 515 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 184 422 recoveries and Tennessee with 180 781.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 14 771 851 people tested, followed by New York with 10 856 531 people tested, and Texas with 6 282 329 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 34 353 480 confirmed cases, 1 023 983 deaths, and 23 892 818 recoveries.
