COVID-19 Update: US and Global Cases, Deaths, and Recoveries as of September 21, 2020

Data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map on coronavirus cases, mortalities, recoveries, and more.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, September 21, 2020 at 8:23 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 6 813 984 confirmed cases
• 199 525 deaths
• 2 590 671 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 786 696
2. Texas: 713 007
3. Florida: 683 754
4. New York: 449 900
5. Georgia: 306 155

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 33 087 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 16 067 deaths, and Texas with 15 088.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 609 210 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 167 257 recoveries and Tennessee with 165 844.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 13 523 158 people tested, followed by New York with 9 922 446 people tested, and Texas with 5 593 488 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 31 103 347 confirmed cases, 961 435 deaths, and 21 281 441 recoveries.
