COVID-19 Update: US Now Leads with Most Confirmed Deaths

There are now >557 000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US and >21 000 confirmed deaths, the largest amount of any nation to date.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, April 13, 2020 at 10:31 AM, there have been:

• 1 870 076 confirmed cases
• 115 286 deaths
• 441 323 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 557 663 total cases to date, followed by Spain with 169 496 cases and Italy with 156 363 cases.

The US now also leads in number of confirmed deaths (21 662), followed by Italy (19 899) and Spain (17 489). China leads in recoveries with 78 036 people who have recovered, followed by Spain with 64 727 recoveries and Germany with 64 300.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 557 663 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 21 662 deaths and 32 988 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 190 288
2. New Jersey: 61 850
3. Massachusetts: 25 475
                                       4. Michigan: 24 244
                                             5. California: 23 234

New York City, New York still has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 6898 reported fatalities.
