According to early estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of October 9, 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant made up 99.9% of COVID-19 cases in the United States.

The CDC estimates for the week ending on October 9, 2021, the 5 states with the highest unweighted proportion of new cases attributed to the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant are:

1. Vermont: 100%
2. Idaho: 99.7%
3. Maine: 99.7%
4. Massachusetts: 99.6%
5. Washington: 99.6%

How many people in the US have been vaccinated against COVID-19?

According to the CDC as of today, October 25, 2021, at 4:08 PM, EDT:

• 66.4% of total US population has received at least 1 dose
• 57.4% of total US population is fully vaccinated

The 5 states/territories with the highest percentage of population fully vaccinated are:
