According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, March 12, 2021 at 11:23 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 29 289 999 confirmed cases
• 530 962 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 3 614 852
2. Texas: 2 716 287
3. Florida: 1 962 651
4. New York: 1 720 199
5. Illinois: 1 204 323

Deaths: California has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 55 166 reported fatalities, followed by New York with 48 690, and Texas with 46 007.
