Healthiest States in America: A 2025 Ranking

National health trends for 2025 show a complex mix of improved cancer screenings alongside rising chronic conditions and affordability gaps.

The United Health Foundation’s 2025 annual report, titled “America’s Health Rankings 2025 Annual Report”, is the longest running US health assessment on a state-by-state basis. The 205 report evaluates 99 distinct measures across 31 data sources, grouped into 5 categories: health outcomes, social and economic factors, physical environment, behaviors, and clinical care.
