Medical Humor Goes Off the Charts

One-liners and bloopers and puns, oh my! Venture here into the mad and merry old Land of Osler, where laughter, the best medicine, reigns supreme.

Voltaire wrote, “The art of medicine consists of amusing the patient while nature cures the disease.” Madeleine L’Engle added, “A good laugh heals a lot of hurts.” And Theodor Geisel-Doctor Seuss-summed it all up: “From there to here, from here to there, funny things are everywhere.”

OK, Doctor Seuss wasn’t a real doctor, but he had the right idea. Laughter, we’re sure, is the best medicine.

For a little medical levity, we looked online (of course) for a selection of chart bloopers, doctored definitions, and other medical madness to tickle your funny bone-and your patients’ humerus. Enjoy.
