This year he led the Internal Medicine 2009 Maintenance of Certification Exam Preparation Course on April 21 and 22. This Pre-Course-designed to help physicians prepare for the final examination of the general internal medicine recertification process-is highly interactive. Using brief didactic presentations and case-based, multiple-choice questions similar in format to the American Board of Internal Medicine examination, faculty engage participants in clinical problem solving. With the aid of the audience-response system, participants can select their answers to the questions. Expert faculty use participant responses as a springboard for discussion of timely topics and important developments across the spectrum of internal medicine.

For the past 10 years, Dr Rubin has been Series Editor of “What’s The ‘Take Home’?”-a quiz feature based on the interactive cases he presents at the ACP meeting. This feature appears each month in Consultant and now offers 0.5 hours of Category 1 credit, which can be obtained after the completion of a post-test online at http://education.CMELLC.com.

Dr Rubin’s extensive experience and commitment to continuing medical education was acknowledged by Temple University School Medicine with the Great Teacher Award. If you missed Dr Rubin’s presentation this year, you can rest assured that he will be back at the ACP next year.
